Questions

The things people ask most, about the app and about buying it.

Using the app

What files can I import?

Word documents (.docx). If you wrote in Google Docs, you can still download it as a Word file and import that. Make sure each chapter title is set to Heading 1 so the program can find your chapter breaks.

How do I get the program to recognize my chapters?

In Word, click on a chapter title and choose Heading 1 from the Styles menu, then do the same for every chapter. Or skip that and add the chapter breaks by hand inside the program.

Is AI formatting my manuscript?

No. It’s all deterministic code. AI isn’t part of this program in any way, and I will never add AI helpers or assistants to it. Some of the decorative images come from Canva, which can make them hard to trace back to the original artist, so I’m working on commissioning art from indie artists instead.

Do you use my manuscript once it’s uploaded?

No. Your manuscript stays on your computer, and I can’t see it or get to it. Your manuscripts, book projects, artwork and other creative work remain yours.

Can I sell my book with these templates and themes?

Yes. Artwork from PetrichorPages can go in your finished books, including ones you sell. It just can’t be pulled out, redistributed, resold or offered as standalone artwork.

Will these features work on Kindle?

Some of them will, but background images won’t. To see how our text blocks look on Amazon’s Kindle Previewer, click here.

How many books can I format?

As many as you can write.

Buying & billing

How much does it cost?

$34 plus tax, once. More themes, features and images may be offered as optional add-ons later, but you never need them.

Are there monthly fees?

No! It’s a one-time purchase. Your license key works on up to 3 devices.

Do you keep my card information?

No. Payments go through Stripe, so I never see your card details. I can see your name, payment method and address. Stripe’s privacy policy has the details.

Can I get a refund?

Sales are final, because there’s no way to stop someone from paying, exporting their book and then asking for a refund. If you run into a major problem using the program, get in touch and we’ll work out a solution. The free demo is a good way to be sure first.

Still wondering? Try it.

Upload your manuscript to the free demo and see it in a PetrichorPages theme.
